Literature 1st Advanced homework for Wednesday

Dear students,

Thankyou to those of you who have been bringing your "Reader's Companion" Book. For those of you who still do not have your book, I strongly suggest you find a solution as I am continuing to take off marks for being disorganised.

Homework for Wednesday 17 October is:

- Research international sign language for the deaf: How many different types of sign languages are there in the world - one for every language?

- Bring in a diagram with the word "Water" spelt in English sign language with your hands. (Related to our story "Water" that we are reading about Helen Keller.)

Social Studies - 1st Advanced Research Project

Dear students,

As described last week, your homework is to bring in research on the countries you were assigned at the start of the term.

The research should be:

• handwritten (NO printed copies from websites
• 3 - 4 pages in your social studies notebook

The points of research on your country are:

• Main climate zones of the country (eg. tropical, mediterranean etc)
• Main natural resources of the country
• main crops of the country
  
• National Parks and UNESCO areas of the country (if any)
• Recent natural disasters and recent changes in the country
  
• General effects of climate change on the country - social, economic and environmental effects
  
• the highest point and lowest point of altitude in the country ( you will need to find a topograhpical map for this)

The project is worth 20% of your October bimestral exam mark. I will be marking based on the quality of information and the amount of analysis - the way that you make connections and your own comments on the information.

Literature Homework - 1 Advanced

Dear students,

As discussed last week, we need to keep moving through the stories in our Literature book.

Hi dear students,
I would like to congratulate the students that have been positive about the Science English class. I have notice that some of you were very interested in the power point presentation that we saw last Thursday. For that reason I have decided to have a special folder for special additional information about the subject. If you need or want this information, I will gladly give it to you.
Up till now we have studied in class section one and we are about to finish section two from your science book. Both sections from chapter one.
For this reason you must hand in your homework for the next science class (September Tuesday 25th.)
